ADRE Grade 4 coaching in Guwahati.

Preparation for Assam's Class IV posts — the HSLC (Class 10) paper and the Read up to Class VIII paper — at the school standard the Commission sets, and at the pace it demands.

// who_can_apply

Who the Grade IV papers are for.

The Commission's notices call these Class-IV posts. Your qualification decides which paper you sit.

ADRE 3.0 had not been notified when we checked the State Level Recruitment Commission portals on 21 September 2026. The figures on this page are from ADRE 2.0 (2024) — its notices, and the cut-offs published in March 2025 — the most recent official ones. The ADRE 3.0 notification can change them; the official documents are listed at the end of this page.

Written-paper marks needed to be provisionally called to the next stage, published by the Commission in March 2025. Reserved-category and PwBD cut-offs are in the official PDF listed under sources.

Negative marking

0.25 is deducted for every incorrect answer. There is exactly one correct option, and marking more than one counts as wrong.

After the written paper

Candidates are shortlisted on the written paper at 1:2 against the vacancies — anyone tied on marks at the cut-off is called too — for an interview or skill test of 15 marks.

Every level side by side, with the Grade III papers, is on the ADRE exam pattern page.

// preparation.plan

What the pattern says about preparing.

Read straight off the question pattern above — arithmetic, not opinion.

01

About 67 seconds a question

135 questions in 150 minutes. Speed is the exam — which is why every unit of the course ends in a timed test rather than a chapter review.

02

No subject can be skipped

The Commission published five subjects and no split between them, so there is no safe section to drop. Cover all five before going deep on any.

03

Study at the standard, not above it

The HSLC paper is pegged to SEBA's Class 10 examination and the Class VIII paper to SCERT's elementary level. Your old school textbooks are the syllabus — graduate-level material wastes the weeks you have.

04

Know which paper you applied for

Paper I and Paper II are separate examinations at different standards, held on the same day. Prepare for the one your application category sits.

How the course covers it

Grade III and Grade IV candidates share the ADRE course: the general knowledge and Assam GK core, quantitative aptitude, reasoning and the language section, closing with full-length papers on real OMR sheets and an analysis of every attempt. The unit-by-unit plan is on the ADRE course page, and the subject-wise ADRE syllabus maps each subject to the papers it appears in.

ADRE Grade 4 — straight answers.

Is ADRE Grade 4 the same as the Class IV posts?
Yes. The Commission's notices say Class-IV posts; Grade IV is the name candidates use. There are two written papers: one for HSLC (Class 10) passed candidates, including HSLC with an ITI trade certificate, and one for candidates who read up to Class VIII.
Can a graduate apply for ADRE Grade 4?
Not in ADRE 2.0. The maximum qualification for Class IV posts was HSSLC (Class 12), and anyone with a higher qualification on the date of application was not eligible.
How many questions are in the ADRE Grade 4 paper?
135 multiple-choice questions of one mark each, to be attempted in 2 hours 30 minutes. 0.25 is deducted for each wrong answer.
What standard is the Grade 4 syllabus set at?
The HSLC-category paper follows SEBA's HSLC (Class 10) examination; the Class VIII paper follows SCERT's Elementary School Pass Level. Both cover English, Social Studies, Mathematics, General Knowledge, and Mental Ability and Logical Reasoning.
What happens after the Grade 4 written exam?
Candidates are shortlisted at 1:2 against the vacancies for an interview or skill test of 15 marks. Candidates with identical marks at the cut-off are all called.
