ADRE Grade 3 coaching in Guwahati.

Preparation for Assam's Class III posts — the Bachelor's Degree, HSSLC and HSLC (Driver) papers — worked backwards from the Commission's own question pattern.

// who_can_apply

Who the Grade III papers are for.

The Commission's notices call these Class-III posts. Your qualification decides which paper you sit.

ADRE 3.0 had not been notified when we checked the State Level Recruitment Commission portals on 21 September 2026. The figures on this page are from ADRE 2.0 (2024) — its notices, and the cut-offs published in March 2025 — the most recent official ones. The ADRE 3.0 notification can change them; the official documents are listed at the end of this page.

Written-paper marks needed to be provisionally called to the next stage, published by the Commission in March 2025. Reserved-category and PwBD cut-offs are in the official PDF listed under sources.

Negative marking

A quarter of the question's marks is deducted for every wrong answer: 0.25 on a 1-mark question, 0.50 on a 2-mark one. Marking more than one option counts as wrong.

After the written paper

Candidates shortlisted on the written paper take a skill test — computer, stenography or driving, depending on the post — and other tests carrying 25 marks.

Every level side by side, with the Grade IV papers, is on the ADRE exam pattern page.

// preparation.plan

What the pattern says about preparing.

Read straight off the question pattern above — arithmetic, not opinion.

01

At degree level, English is the biggest block

Reading Comprehension and English Language is 25 questions at 2 marks each — 50 of the paper's 175 marks — and General English adds 10 more. Sixty marks, a third of the paper, ride on English.

02

At HSSLC level, English and Mathematics are 70 questions

35 each, out of 150. Every other subject is 30 or fewer. That is where daily practice time belongs.

03

A wrong 2-mark answer costs half a mark

Negative marking scales with the question, so a careless guess on a comprehension question costs twice what it does elsewhere. Attempt them when you can eliminate options, not on a hunch.

04

Driver candidates have a section nobody else studies

Road Transport is 20 questions of the HSLC-level paper and appears in no other ADRE paper, so no general GK revision covers it. Revise it as its own subject.

How the course covers it

Grade III and Grade IV candidates share the ADRE course: the general knowledge and Assam GK core, quantitative aptitude, reasoning and the language section, closing with full-length papers on real OMR sheets and an analysis of every attempt. The unit-by-unit plan is on the ADRE course page, and the subject-wise ADRE syllabus maps each subject to the papers it appears in.

ADRE Grade 3 — straight answers.

Is ADRE Grade 3 the same as the Class III posts?
Yes. The Commission's notices say Class-III posts; Grade III is the name candidates use. It runs as three written papers, one for each minimum qualification: Bachelor's Degree, HSSLC and HSLC (for the post of Driver).
Is there negative marking in the ADRE Grade 3 paper?
In ADRE 2.0, yes: a quarter of the question's marks for each wrong answer — 0.25 on a 1-mark question and 0.50 on the 2-mark comprehension questions. Marking more than one option is treated as a wrong answer.
In which languages is the Grade 3 question paper set?
Assamese, Bengali, English, Bodo and Hindi, in ADRE 2.0.
What happens after the Grade 3 written exam?
Shortlisted candidates take a skill test — computer, stenography or driving, depending on the post — and other tests worth 25 marks, followed by document verification. Selected candidates within a grade pay are allotted departments by draw of lots.
Which batch should a Grade 3 candidate join?
Grade III and Grade IV candidates share the ADRE batches — morning, evening, and a crash batch announced when a notification is out. Tell us your qualification when you enquire, so we know which paper you are preparing for.
